Due to the prolonged agitation by the Screen Writers Guild and Screen Actors Guild in the screen industry, many people lost their livelihoods and businessmen closed down their businesses. It became a situation where the professionals of the industry had to suffer a lot to survive. It gave a big boost to the screen industry, which was just returning to its rhythm after the end of the long agitation.
To that end, the awards screened a short film produced by The Hollywood Professional Association (HPA) described as a "heartfelt salute to the patient members of the post-production community."
