Mayor Balen warns to strictly implement the ban of Hindi films in every cinema hall from tomorrow.

Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen)  has strictly instructed all the halls to follow the order of the  prohibition of Hindi films to be implemented from tomorrow. He has announced on social media that the release of Indian films in the halls of Kathmandu Metropolitan City will be prohibited until the objectionable dialogues contained in the film "Adipurush" is removed.

He wrote on the social network - '3 days ago, we called to remove the objectionable message that Janaki is an Indian daughter included in the Indian film Adipurush from the main part of the film. There is no doubt that it is the first duty of every government, government agency, non-governmental sector and Nepali citizen to protect the national interests while keeping Nepal's freedom, independence and self-respect intact. Clause (6) of Articles 5 and 56 of the Constitution of Nepal assigns the responsibility of protecting the national interest to the Union, State and local governments. If the film is shown as it is, it seems that Nepal's nationalism, cultural unity and national identity will be severely damaged and irreparable damage will be caused. Due to cultural encroachment on Nepal from that film, this metropolitan city has attracted serious attention.

Balen further writes - 'By prohibiting the screening of the said film against the national interest within the area of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, if the film is allowed to be screened in other areas of the country and abroad, it will establish a misleading fact, so it is prohibited to show any Indian film in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City until the objectionable parts are removed from the said film.

With Balen's announcement, it has been confirmed that the film 'Adi Purush' will not be shown in the halls of Kathmandu Metropolitan City from tomorrow. The metropolitian is preparing to send metropolitian police to evey hall this evening onwards.
