Film ‘Dakini’ will be released in limited halls only
The film ‘Dakini’, which is going to be released from Jestha 19 will be released only in limited halls. During a press meet on Tuesday, the makers of the film announced that the film will be released in QFX Chhaya Centre Thamel, F-cube Cinemas KL Tower Chabahil, Big Movies Kamalpokhari, SK Cinemas Sitapaila, and QFX Labim Mall Lalitpur.
This film has been shown in different film festivals with the name 'Looking for a Lady with Mustache and Fangs' and has got well responses too. The film depicts the story related to ‘Dakini’ which denotes a female deity who is often associated with ‘Tantra’.
The production team wanted to showcase their film to the Nepali audience who are truly into the art films and that is the only reason to release the film in the theatres. They said, “We just wanted our audience to experience the beauty we created. This film is only for those who truly wants to explore the dimensions in Nepali films.”
According to the team of makers, the film can be totally termed as a Nepali film even if the language used in the film is Tibetan and Nepali. The film is produced under the banner of Shatkon Arts.
Written and directed by Bhutanese Buddhist guru and filmmaker Khyentse Norbu, the film stars Tsering Tashi, Tulku Kungzang, Ngawang Tenzin, Orgen Topgyal Rinpoche, Rabindra Singh Baniya and others. The producers of the film are Max Dipesh Khatri and Rabindra Singh Baniya whereas Zhuangzhuang Tian, Olivia Harrison, Ram Raju, Aona Liu, and Kate McCreery are the executive directors of the film.
