Flopped stardom and praised comedy

Every year films are produced and released. Among which some break the record and many just vanish. Such films not only dump the money of the producers but also the hard work of directors, technicians, and artists. However, the production of films has not stopped.

Box office is the only tool to determine the success of the films. The numerical ratio of the films that surprises is slightly different when we hear about the release of 100 films that earned a significant amount or average or the share amount that goes to the producers.

In the year 2079, 'Kabaddi 4', 'Chakka Panja 4', and 'Mahapurush' were listed first regarding their earnings. According to the report of the Film Development Board, the films have earned 21 crores 38 lakhs, 16 crores 94 lakhs 34 thousands 6 hundred 34, and 7 crores 38 lakhs, 90 thousands and 6 hundred 70 respectively. These films covered different stories but the genre was comedy.

However, films like 'Jhingedau', 'Ke Ghar Ke Dera', 'Dui Numbari' have done satisfactorily well at the box office. The films like 'Prem Geet 3', 'Ae Mero Hajur 4', and 'Fulbari' raised the investment. The course of degradation in earnings of film before COViD was somehow balanced in 2079.

Anticipated flops

In 2079, some films were in hype before its release. Dipendra K Khanal's 'Chiso Manchhe', Khagendra Lamichhane's 'Paniphoto', Anup Baral's 'Dokh', Sujit Bidari's 'Aina Jhyal Ko Putali', Subarna Thapa's 'Radha', Dinesh Raut's 'Prakash' were in hypes due to the characters and the posters. However, their earnings were not noticeable in the box office. Even after having star-caste in the film, it couldn't attract the audience to the halls.

Flop Stardom

Producers are always ready to invest huge amounts on the artist having star value or stardom. But such artists with stardom fail to raise their own charge. And this ritual in Nepali Film Industry is not new.

Films of actors having a good stardom, Pradeep Khadka's 'Prem Geet 3', and Anmol's 'Ae Mero Hajur 4' somehow brought audience to the halls however Anmol's film 'Chhadke 2' became a super flop and for that he had to apologize. He has to apologize for the first time in his career. This year was the same for actor Puspa Khdka as his both films 'Krishnaleela' and 'Man sanga Man' were a massive flop.

Actress Pooja Sharma who got the tag of 'Super Star', seems to have the worst year. Even after trying so hard, her films 'Samjhana Birsana' and 'Samhalinchha Kahile Man' couldn't give a satisfactory result.

Actors like Haribansa Acharya, Deepak Raj Giri and Dayajang Rai succeed to maintain their stardom this year. 'Mahapursh', 'Chakka Panja 4', and 'Dui Numbari, Ke Ghar Ke Dera, Kabaddi 4' respectively helped the artist to carry their stardom.

Three films 'Jaari, Bihe Pass and Bulaaki', released on the first day of 2080 among which 'Jaari' seems dominating. The film 'Jaari' has been given enough shows. This year films like 'Jackie: I am 21, Pashupati Prasad 2: Bhasme Don, Nai Na Bhannu La 6, Pardeshi 2' are going to be released. We will be notified about their earnings after its release.
