'Halkara' shows the effect of foreign employment in Nepalese society

The trailer of the new Nepali film 'Halkara' has been released. The trailer of the film was released at a press conference in Kathmandu on Thursday.

The 2-minute 44-second long trailer tries to show the impact of foreign employment on Nepali society through a letter delivery to the village.

Actor Mahesh Tripathi played the character of Halkara (postman) in the film. Looking at the trailer, the audience can easily get a synopsis of the story. The trailer shows a girl waiting for a male who went abroad.

The film is produced by Calipar Studios and is in association with Icefall Productions. The film has participated in various prestigious international festivals. The film won the Best Film Award 'Platinum Remy' at the Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival 2022, while Mahesh Tripathi won the Best Actor and Chintan Rajbhandari won the Best Cinematography Award a the same festival. Also, the film won 'best long narrative film' at the Nepal America International Film Festival 2022. This film reached the semi-final at the Flickers Rhode Island International Film Festival 2022 and at the Carmarthen Bay Film Festival 2022 in the UK, the film was selected for nomination.

The film is written, directed, and edited by Bikram Sapkota. It has been co-written by Biplav Pratik and Akash Baral.

The FD company will distribute the film to be distributed by GGA Group in Kathmandu Valley. Khalti Digital Wallet is the ticketing partner and the community partner is 'Nepali Patro'.
