What journalist and political leaders have to say about 'Bahaab'

Leaders and journalists had reached the QFX at Labim Mall in Lalitpur to watch the film 'Bahaab', which was released across the country on Baisakh 7.

CpN(UML) central secretary and member of the House of Representatives Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, UML leader and member of the House of Representatives Thakur Gaire, Editor-in-Chief of Ukeraa KP Dhungana, Editor-in-Chief of Nepal Press Matrika Poudel and Editor of Kantipur Daily Umesh Chauhan were present at the hall to watch the film. While leaving after watching the film, Gaire said that the zest of the film is to show how hard is it to understand, experience and implement the progressive thoughts.

Similarly, he said that the performance of the artists was brilliant and their performance will make us think. He added that the film 'Bahaab' has shown the level of our Vedic tradition and culture that exist in the society. The hard work of the team in the film is very good and they are excellent in it.

MP Bhattarai said that the efforts of the youth in the film are very strong. He said, "The film is good. Surakshya Panta is a versatile actress of the Nepali film industry. She also has a strong performance in this film and it has revealed various dimensions and developments in our Nepalese society. ’

Stating that there are mental feuds caused by stress, differences and lack of awareness in a family, he said that the director has presented such ideas in a lively way. He said that the message has been given in the film that the differences of the society should be changed as well.

"In the case of women, this film is a symbol of revolution. Since any change is a revolution, the story of the film can be said to be revolutionary. There are differences within the society regarding caste or genders. On top of that, a middle class family has certain desires which need to be changed. Violence is not just a revolution. It has done a gentle disregard which can be felt through the decision of Surakshya Panta in the film," Bhattarai said.

Editor of Kantipur Daily, Chauhan said that the producer and director have made high political and philosophical films. "There are still castes and classes in our society, and there are internal conflicts within the family as well. The film shows what those conflicts are like and what are the contradictions in the society even among those who are called so-called progressive. This film has made it clear in principle and practice," he said.

He said that he found it "bold" that Surakshya decided not to jump into another cage after getting rid of the previous one.

Editor-in-Chief Poudel said that the youth team has made the film based on philosophical and political alliances. "The film carries a partial political and emotional side. It shows that revolution is not only done by the basic classes but also by the middle class," he said.

Editor Dhungana, claimed that if the story of this film was released in India, the theaters would have caught fire. He revealed that he had experienced a lot of politics in the story of the film. "The producers and directors have cleverly played a political game about the differences between left ideology and democratic ideology. This is an experiment. I haven't seen a film that has been directed so cleverly on a political subject," he said.

The film stars Surakshya Panta and Kamalmani Nepal as daughter and father in pivotal roles. The writer and the director of the film is Pramod Kandel.
